Domain names - the search is on...

I mentioned that I was in discussion with a former colleague of mine and a friend of him on a new web based business. Well the discussions are on and now we are in the process of searching for a domain name for the site. Have you got any idea how difficult it is to come up with a domain name these days?

I guess all the words in the English dictionaries are registered. That leaves us with the options of either a two word domain name or a coined word. Then the second option is to go for a Sri Lankan name, probably a Sinhalese or a Tamil word. This leaves us in a bit of a tricky spot as we don't want to appear biased towards either culture as this is a venture that is going to serve all communities.

We came up with a list of names and had a vote on it. That led to all of us deciding on a name. But later in the discussion we realized that name sounds familiar to something not so desirable. Then we had to let go of that name. We were back to square one.

So, we are still raking our brains to come up with that intriguing and captivating name, which is still eluding us!
